key hanger

So, in getting ready to have Dan back home I was trying to see where he'll drop off his keys when he comes home at night. Looking around I didn't see a specific spot for him and new it would end up being some place different every time. Which means that every time we'd leave he'd have to ask me where his keys were ;)

So I thought I'd fix that problem. I took an old wood box that I had and painted the inside. The back is blue and the sides red. I also got a 3M hook for him to hang his keys on. Here's how it turned out

Memoral Weekend 2011

This is a video of my family weekend. I wish my husband could have been there. It was a weekend full of fun and love!! I can't wait till we are all together again. At least we're all on the same side of the country now ;)

Wall Art

So, I am here in MD and have been very busy trying to get my house in order. Can you believe I still have stuff to do? Some days I feel like I'll never finish. Oh well...

Anyhow, I want my room to be a peaceful retreat for Dan and me. I'm trying to stay away from family photos and anything else that might be distracting. As you may know,I'm a HGTV junkie so I saw this project and wanted to try it.

I started with a sheet of foam board and some scrapbook paper that matches my bedding.

I then cut the foam board up into different sizes.

Then I used spray adhisive to apply the scrapbook paper to the different pieces of foam and arranged them in an artistic way.

Here it is up on the wall.

Also, I am having the picture below made into a canvas for above my bed with candles on the sides.

Can't wait till it arrives so I can have my peaceful bedroom retreat all done!

Mother/Son Walk

Orion and I just went on a little walk around the Haley's neighborhood. It's been raining on and off so we took one of the off times to get some fresh air. We also found some beautiful flowers along the way.

I don't really like the picture but LOVE the color of these flowers.

I think this just shows the mood of the day so well.

I don't have a clue what kind of tree this is but it's so pretty!

Desk

So I found this desk on craigslist for $20. I've been wanting my own desk for awhile as well as wanting to see if I could do a refurbish project. So this desk was a two-fer.

The green doesn't really go with anything I have so I decided to paint it white. Nice and new.

After a few coats of paint and some finish I'm done! Can't wait to set up my new desk in my new home in Maryland!

I painted all the hardware a flat black and I love it.

Baby shower gift

So I have been to a couple baby showers in the past couple weeks. I decided to do a hand made gift for these amazing families and their new additions. The first was for my friend, Kandace, who is having baby boy number two! His name is Kahlen and this is what I made for him.

The second was for my friend,Sharon, who is having her first. A baby girl named,Peyton! She is definitely going to be a little southern bell. Here is her gift.

I really hope the families enjoy these!

Rain drops and painted clouds

We've had some weird weather here lately but it opened the opprotunity for the sky to be amazing. I loved the way the clouds looked painted on the sky yesterday!

This picture reminds me of Easter. I can hear

"Arise, My love.
Arise, My love.
The grave no longer

No more death's sting
No more suffering
Arise...Arise...my love"

I just couldn't stop staring at the beauty!!

They looked like God took at paint brush and went to work! AWESOME!

On a different note, the rain has been pretty crazy the past week too. So, of course, I had to get some rain drop pictures.

And another. Orion's truck looks so sad. It just wants to be played with ;)

Hopefully it dries out soon so we can go out and play!
