Dinner

Sometimes, being the mom of a toddler calls for some creativity.  One day they like something the next they don't. This includes all things from bugs to dinner. My son is pretty picky when it comes to his food. Dan and I had chicken salad last night for dinner. Of course Orion wouldn't eat the salad but he won't eat grilled chicken either. He won't eat anything with "lines" on it. So I was searching the kitchen trying to decide what to make him. We need to go grocery shopping so choices where slim. I thought I'd get creative with what I had. This is what I came up with.
Cracker Pizza!!
I had crackers, mini pepperonies, cheese, and spegetti sause. Orion thought it was cool that he had something "special". I need these creative juices to flow some more.
Of course I had to eat one. They were pretty tasty. Now if I could only get him to eat veggies ;)

Mission San Carlos Borromeo del Rio Carmelo!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit a Mission in Carmel. It was beautiful and so historic. I really love old architecture so I fell in love with this place as soon as I got there.

This was such an amazing place to see. Such history.

I hope you enjoyed these photos. I sure had a great time taking them.

Bookmarks

So I have started to be a touch crafty. My first project was some bookmarks for Valentine's Day. I'm happy with the way they turned out. Of course, Orion, was my inspiration.

This is the front of them. The two to the right are my favs.

Here are the backs. And yes, that is Orion's profile.

I really enjoyed making these. This one is for me. I read all the time so I'm really excited to see this reminder of what I love every time I open a book!

Moss Landing

We have driven past Moss Landing many times and never stopped to look at the beauty. Well, we finally stopped!

It was so beautiful. The waves were awesome, and the sand was so nice and soft. Plus we found a place for Dan and Orion to go fishing. It was a win all around.

I LOVED that there were a couple painters out with their canvases. I told Dan the other day that I wished I was an artist because there is so much natural beauty here to capture. He told me I was an artist with my camera. He knows just what to say ;)

Loved watching them paint. It is so amazing to me to see others use their abilities and passion to make something so beautiful!

Painter on the hill.

So AWESOME!

I love this photo. So peaceful to me.
Thanks Moss Landing for a wonderful afternoon with my two favorite guys.

Big Sur

We finally made the drive down highway 1 to Big Sur. It was so beautiful out yesterday and the perfect day to go. It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.  The beach, the sun, the huge redwoods, the rocks, everything was so pretty!

We had such a wonderful time hanging out as a family and taking in the scenery.

One last picture. My very favorite pic of the day.
If you're out here in Cali,I hope you were able to enjoy the amazing weather yesterday. To all my friends covered in snow right now, please enjoy the different scene!

Egyptian Museum

Over the New Year's weekend we went up to San Jose. While there we went to the Egyptian Museum.  Unfortunately, the museum itself was closed but we did get to walk around the grounds and they were great. So many wonderful statues and settings. Just beautiful!

J.Lohr Vineyards & Winery

New Years  Eve I went to my first winery. J.Lohr Winery is located in San Jose,CA. I got to enjoy a complimentary wine tasting with my best friend. It was really neat to be able to taste wines that I normally wouldn't get to.  The gentleman working with us told us a lot about the different wines and how they're made. Some of the wines we tasted the grapes were grown right here in Monterey! It was such a nice and relaxing experience!

Here is a link to their website. Such a wonderful first time experience!

Best Friends

I consider myself very lucky to have some amazing family and friends.  I have been fortunate enough to spend time with my best friend,Amanda, this last week. She is such a fantastic friend and a great, strong, woman and mother.

best friends can live being apart because they know in their heart that things will always be the same

Seriously couldn't have a better best friend if I tried. This is someone I can tell anything to and I know she'll still love me.

Best Friends are always there for you, whenever, wherever, however,
and most importantly: forever. They understand you and pass no judgment.

Thank you,Amanda for being so wonderful. I love you!!
